Frequently Asked Questions

When should I seek counseling?

People usually come to counseling because they want to feel better about themselves or their relationships with others. Counseling provides you the opportunity to confidentially talk with a counselor about personal concerns and to facilitate personal growth. We work to help each person define goals, make decisions, and solve problems.
People often want to work on the following:
  • Enhancing their ability to cope more effectively with anxiety and stress
  • Overcoming feelings and symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other mental health obstacles
  • Improving relationships with friends, family, and significant others
  • Increasing self-confidence and assertiveness
  • Learning how to set and maintain healthy boundaries with the people in their life
  • Dealing with the loss of a loved one
  • Health concerns or eating problems
  • Managing addiction

What can I expect from counseling?

At Heritage Therapeutic Services, you can expect a therapist who is interested in listening to your concerns and in helping you develop a better understanding of them so that you may deal with them more effectively. Your counselor will help you to explore your feelings, make your own decisions, and resolve your concerns.

What about confidentiality?

All information disclosed in counseling at Heritage Therapeutic Services is kept strictly confidential according to HIPPA. We are required to report information related to danger to self or others and the abuse of a child or incapacitated adult.

Where will we meet?

Our office is located at 3600 West Main, Suite 150 for in person appointments. The building is grey, our office has red brick outside. Go around and past the Bank of America drive-thru to the small, one-way parking lot and you should see us! If you have trouble finding our location, please give us a call for assistance.

We also offer telehealth services if you are interested in doing phone or video call therapy.

What insurances do you accept?

We accept most major insurances including, but not limited to the following:
  • Medicaid/Soonercare
  • Beacon
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Health Choice
  • Humana Choice
  • Tricare
  • United Health Care
If you do not see your insurance listed, please give us a call, we may still be in network! If we are out of network or you do not want to use your insurance, please see below for information on our sliding scale.

How does the sliding scale work for out of pocket payment?

If we are not in your insurance network, you do not have insurance, or you do not want to use your insurance, we offer a sliding scale for our prices based on your household income. Please call us to ask about our sliding scale and how much our services would be based on your household income.
